AP High Court dismisses PIL seeking CBI inquiry on mega DSC

Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday dismissed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by YCP MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy that sought CBI inquiry into the Mega DSC 2025 recruitment process. The Court questioned why candidates disadvantaged by the sports quota were not approaching the court directly. It stated that it could not accept the argument that aggrieved candidates were afraid to approach the judiciary themselves. The High Court noted that 335 petitions challenging the Mega DSC notification and recruitment process have already been filed.

The AP High Court observed that a Public Interest Litigation is a highly valuable instrument. It warned that the very purpose of a PIL would be undermined if it were allowed to be used for political gain. The Court directed the counsel to seek instructions from the petitioner regarding whether to proceed with the arguments or withdraw the petition and to report back.

This direction was conveyed to the senior counsel representing YCP MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy. It is well known that Chandrasekhar Reddy had filed this PIL in the High Court seeking a CBI probe into Mega DSC 2025.
