Visakhapatnam: CPM state secretary V Srinivasa Rao warned that a protest will be taken up if issues of those who gave away lands for the establishment Google Data Centre remain unresolved.

Addressing the media here on Sunday, he announced that if the issues related to those who sacrificed their lands for the data centre were not resolved by April 25th, a protest under the banner of ‘chalo Tarluvada’ will be initiated. “If the situation continues to be the same, we will also agitate against the groundbreaking ceremony of the data centre scheduled on April 28th,” Srinivasa Rao stressed.

The state government acquired a land to an extent of 601 acres from 520 farmers of Tarluvada, Adavivaram and Rambilli mandals, the CPM state secretary pointed out.

“For a global company that is investing Rs.1.2 lakh crore, what is the need for the government to provide subsidy to it to the tune of Rs.22,000 crore,” he questioned.

As 160 acres of endowments land were allotted to the data centre, Srinivasa Rao questioned how come the government is facing issue to regularise Simhachalam panchagramalu lands.
