Vijayawada: City Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu urged students and youth to stay away from drugs and cybercrime and focus on education to build a bright future.

He was addressing an awareness seminar on ‘Drugs, Cybercrime and the Future of Youth’ held at the Velidandla Hanumantharaya Library on Tuesday.

The seminar was presided by Grandhalayam president Donepudi Shankar.

The Commissioner said drug addiction affects not only individuals but also their families and society. He warned that peer pressure, curiosity, and stress often lead youngsters into substance abuse, which can permanently damage their lives.

Ayush Hospitals Chairman Dr Y Ramesh Babu and Cyber Crime DCP K Krishna Prasanna stressed responsible use of technology, digital awareness, and discipline to avoid cyber fraud and addiction. Prof MC Das encouraged students to follow the principle of “Listen, Think and Act” to lead responsible and successful lives.

Dogiparthi Sankara Rao, honorary president of Grandhalayam, Gaddam Satyanarayana, secretary and others were also present. A large number of students from Srichaitanya, Sarada and Ravindra Bharathi educational institutions attended the programme.
