Vontimitta set for divine wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita today

Tirupati: The sacred town of Vontimitta is filled with devotion and anticipation as the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has completed elaborate arrangements for the grand Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam, scheduled to be held on Wednesday from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
The temple surroundings have transformed into a vibrant spiritual venue, ready to welcome thousands of devotees who are expected to witness the divine celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama and Goddess Sita. Under the guidance of TTD Executive Officer M Ravichandra, senior officials worked closely with district authorities for several weeks to ensure that every arrangement was made smoothly and systematically. Their aim has been to provide devotees with a comfortable, safe, and spiritually fulfilling experience.
The celebrations will begin with a significant ritual offering from the State Government.
At 6.00 pm on Wednesday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will present silk garments to the deities on behalf of the government, marking the formal commencement of the sacred event.
Massive engineering and logistical preparations have been carried out at the venue. Seating arrangements have been made for nearly sixty thousand devotees across 121 galleries.
Each gallery will be supervised by paramedical staff, TTD employees, police personnel, and volunteers to guide devotees and respond quickly to any need. Twenty-eight kiosks have been set up to distribute Thalambralu packets, and every devotee attending the Kalyanam will receive pearl Thalambralu, Srivari laddu prasadam, a sacred wrist thread, and annaprasadam.
Special care has been taken for devotees arriving on foot. Eleven shelters along the routes provide buttermilk, panakam, cooling facilities, medical assistance, and security support. Shaded pandals and water sprinklers have been installed to protect devotees from heat and fatigue.
Near the temple, large German sheds have been arranged to accommodate three thousand devotees for orderly queue management.
Security arrangements are extensive and multi-layered. Vigilance teams, observation units, fire service personnel, TTD scouts, and around three thousand police personnel have been deployed to maintain safety. The entire area is monitored through 235 CCTV cameras and twelve drones connected to a central command control center supported by three sub-control rooms.
Annaprasadam will be served continuously from morning until night at both the temple and the Kalyanam venue. Large quantities of drinking water and buttermilk packets have been arranged to ensure no devotee faces discomfort.
The temple has also been beautifully decorated with twelve tons of traditional flowers and nearly one lakh cut flowers, creating a festive spiritual atmosphere.
For the first time, a mini Ramayana art installation has been set up within the temple premises, allowing devotees to experience scenes from the epic as part of the celebrations.
For devotees who cannot attend in person, Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam will be telecast live in high-definition through SVBC, enabling people across the world to witness the sacred ceremony from their homes.
