Ravi Babu’s ‘Razor’ set for May 8 release

Filmmaker and actor Ravi Babu, known for his unconventional storytelling style in Telugu cinema, is gearing up to present a gripping new thriller titled Razor. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 8, 2026, marking the birth anniversary of his father, veteran actor Chalapathi Rao.

Presented by Suresh Babu under the banner of Suresh Productions and produced by Flying Frogs, Razor promises to be one of the most intense films in Ravi Babu’s career. The filmmaker, who recently delivered the light-hearted entertainer Enuguthondam Ghatikachalam, takes a completely different route this time with a darker, more violent narrative packed with psychological tension.

Ravi Babu not only directs the film but also plays the lead role, bringing a raw and unsettling presence to the screen. The film has already generated significant buzz following its intriguing title announcement and a recently released glimpse that showcased the actor in a chilling new avatar.

Adding to the excitement, the makers unveiled a fresh series of posters portraying Ravi Babu against gritty urban backdrops and industrial landscapes. One particularly striking image features him moving through a chaotic street alongside a young girl, hinting at a strong emotional layer within the otherwise intense storyline.

The shooting of Razor was completed in February, and the film has now wrapped up its post-production work, including dubbing. With final touches underway, the team is preparing for its theatrical release this summer.
