Salman Khan’s ‘Maatrubhumi’ undergoes major changes!

The upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, starring Salman Khan, has reportedly undergone major modifications even before reaching theatres. The film, which was originally conceptualized around the Galwan Valley clash, has now been significantly reworked following inputs from authorities.
According to industry reports, the makers were advised to tone down certain sensitive aspects of the narrative, particularly references related to China. As a result, the revised version of the film reportedly avoids directly mentioning the country and instead presents the story in a more generalized manner.
To accommodate these changes, nearly 40 percent of the film has been reshot. The new portions reportedly add deeper emotional layers and backstory elements, shifting the focus from a purely military conflict to a more character-driven narrative. The aim is to highlight themes of patriotism, sacrifice, and human emotions rather than emphasizing geopolitical tensions.
The project was initially titled Battle of Galwan, but the makers later renamed it Maatrubhumi to reflect a broader and more neutral storytelling approach. The new title suggests a stronger emphasis on national pride and personal journeys within the context of war.
Meanwhile, speculation has also emerged about the film’s release strategy. Rumours suggest that the makers might consider a direct release on an OTT platform instead of a theatrical launch, although no official confirmation has been made yet.
With such extensive changes and a new narrative direction, audiences are now curious to see how the final version of Maatrubhumi shapes up when it eventually reaches viewers.
