Actress Sangeetha Sringeri is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming Kannada film Padmanabha and Family, which has recently gone on floors along the coastal belt of Karnataka. The film, which began shooting two days ago, is expected to blend strong emotional storytelling with a rooted regional backdrop.
Produced under the banner of Navadurga Films by Mumbai-based entrepreneur Kanyana Sadashiva Shetty, the project has A.K. Karla as Executive Producer. The film is written and directed by Ismail Moodushedde, known for his work in Tulu cinema.
The cast includes prominent names such as Ridan Shetty, Deepak Rai Panaje, Mime Ramdas, Aravind Bolar, Pushparaj Bollar, and Manasi Sudhir, with cinematography handled by Chandu Meppayur. The film is being shot in a single continuous schedule across coastal locations, with the setting playing a significant role in the narrative. For Sangeetha, the coastal milieu is more than just a backdrop. She is also working on adapting to the Mangaluru dialect to bring authenticity to her performance.
The story explores the nuanced and emotional bond between a father and daughter. Sangeetha portrays the daughter of an auto driver, navigating the space between personal ambition and emotional realities. The film subtly questions conventional ideas of success, highlighting the value of relationships over material wealth. With its strong emotional core and culturally rich setting, Padmanabha and Family aims to strike a chord with audiences while showcasing the depth of regional storytelling.
