Yami Gautam urges media not to use AI photos without her consent
National award-winning actress Yami Gautam has urged media to take responsibility and not manipulate her pictures with the help of artificial intelligence. With AI content and altered photos of the stars flooding social media, Yami made a similar appeal in recent times.
Taking to X, the actress asked the media to use her pictures that were clicked during her public appearances and insisted that they do not alter a person’s image without consent.
Yami’s appeal comes after the ‘Chuttamalle’ AI video controversy with Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The fabricated video using the superstar’s image and the popular song from Devara went viral recently. NTR strongly condemned the video’s circulation and threatened legal action against those responsible for the AI content.
Several actors like Vijay Deverakonda and Chiranjeevi have also spoken out against the misuse of AI-generated content and encouraged taking action against such activities.
While the controversy around AI-manipulated videos of celebrities brews, Yami Gautam is busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Nayyi Navelli’. The actress is excited to surprise the audience with a different genre as she prepares to launch the film on October 16, coinciding with Dussehra.
Based in Meerut, the film follows the Awasthi family as they welcome their new daughter-in-law, Mohini (portrayed by Yami). However, as the narrative unfolds, it takes an unexpected turn, revealing Mohini’s mysterious nature. Speaking about the character, Yami mentioned that Mohini is not what she seems to be, saying that he was a mix of friendly and mysterious.
Yami described the film as a blend of family drama, comedy, emotions, fantasy, and action. Directed by Balaji, Nayyi Navelli sees Yami Gautam in a special role and is produced by Colour Yellow Productions and Amazon MGM Studios.
The actress is confident the audience will enjoy watching Mohini when the film releases in theatres.
