V Padma Priya, a National Award-winning teacher from Hyderabad district, has been selected for the Finland International Education Exposure Visit organised by the School Education Department, Telangana. The programme is scheduled to take place from April 18 to April 26, 2026, with 40 delegates from across the state participating.

The exposure visit aims to provide educators with insights into the Finnish education system, widely recognised for its student-centric approach. Participants will observe teaching methodologies, assessment practices, and classroom strategies designed to enhance learning outcomes.

Padma Priya holds an MSc in Mathematics, an MEd, and an Advanced Diploma in Software Technology. She secured second rank during her graduation from Osmania University and entered the teaching profession through DSC 1996, where she achieved first rank in the English medium category. Over the years, she has focused on improving student learning through innovative teaching practices.

She was conferred the National Best Teacher Award in 2020 and was a finalist for the National ICT Award in 2022. Her work is noted for activity-based learning methods, use of low-cost teaching aids, and integration of technology in classrooms. She has adopted blended and flipped learning approaches to make lessons more engaging and effective.

In 2016, as a Fulbright Scholar, she visited the United States, where she interacted with educators from different countries and gained exposure to global teaching practices. She has also facilitated international learning experiences for her students and collaborated with global organisations to host visiting teachers. Padma Priya has contributed to several digital education initiatives, including the DIKSHA platform and digital library projects, and has been involved in curriculum development related to emerging technologies.

Education department officials, school staff, and students have welcomed her selection, noting that the visit is expected to further strengthen her teaching practices and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the education community.
