The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore Innovation Centre recently hosted the “NAIN Innovation Conclave – RISE for Resilient Bharat,” bringing together students, industry leaders, and policymakers to spotlight cutting-edge innovations aimed at addressing critical national challenges.

The flagship event served as a platform for young innovators, particularly from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, to present technology-driven solutions across key sectors such as healthcare, sustainability, digital infrastructure, and social impact. The conclave reflected a growing emphasis on building a self-reliant and resilient India through innovation and research.

Speaking at the event, Lakshmi Jagannathan, CEO of the IIIT-B Innovation Centre, highlighted the significance of the initiative. She noted that the conclave represents the culmination of student creativity and technical excellence, demonstrating how emerging technologies are being leveraged to solve complex societal problems.

Echoing similar sentiments, Debabrata Das, Director of IIIT-Bangalore, said the event embodies the institution’s commitment to nurturing innovation that serves society. He emphasized that students are not only learning technology but also developing solutions with the potential to transform lives and strengthen the nation’s resilience. He added that the institute takes pride in fostering a culture where academic knowledge translates into real-world impact.

The conclave featured an extensive showcase of student-led innovations, ranging from AI-powered healthcare applications to sustainable technology platforms and digital tools addressing grassroots challenges.

Many of these projects demonstrated scalability and alignment with both national priorities and global sustainability goals.

Key highlights of the conclave included an innovation exhibition, the release of the NAIN Innovation 2025 Compendium documenting impactful student projects, and sessions on intellectual property, commercialization pathways, and innovation processes conducted by the KTech team. Outstanding student contributions were also recognised through awards for excellence in innovation and research.

The NAIN Innovation Conclave underscores IIIT-Bangalore’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the innovation ecosystem by encouraging student entrepreneurship and fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government. By bridging the gap between ideas and implementation, the event aims to enable young innovators to translate their concepts into meaningful societal impact.
