M Rushi reflects on preparation strategies, revision techniques, stress management, and becoming the first girl student in nearly four decades to secure TG EAPCET Rank 1

A Hyderabad student has created history in the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) 2026 by securing the state’s first rank and becoming the first girl student in nearly four decades to achieve the feat. In the Engineering stream of TG EAPCET 2026, M. Rushi secured the first rank with 156.63532 marks.

M. Rushi emerged as the topper in TG EAPCET 2026, the results of which were announced recently by Telangana authorities. Since the examination began in 1986 as EAMCET, top ranks in the highly competitive engineering entrance test have largely been dominated by boys. Her achievement is being viewed as a landmark moment in the history of the examination.

In recognition of her accomplishment, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla felicitated Rushi at Lok Bhavan and congratulated her on the achievement. The Governor appreciated her hard work and wished her success in her future academic journey.

Speaking about her reaction after seeing the result, Rushi said she was both “thrilled and grateful” and described securing Rank 1 as “a dream come true.” She said the result gave her confidence and made her feel that the effort she invested over the past two years had finally paid off.

Rushi, a student of Resonance Hyderabad, said disciplined preparation and consistency were the most important factors behind her success. During the crucial months leading up to the examination, she followed a structured daily schedule focused on concept clarity, revision, mock tests, and regular practice. She said maintaining consistency through small but steady daily improvements helped her stay motivated throughout the preparation period.

Rushi described TG EAPCET 2026 as moderately difficult but manageable for students who had practised sufficiently through mock examinations and previous question papers. She explained that familiarity with the exam pattern helped reduce anxiety during the actual examination and improved her confidence while attempting questions.

Among all the subjects, Physics proved to be the most challenging for her. She said she initially struggled with managing both speed and accuracy in the subject. To improve, she focused first on strengthening conceptual understanding and accuracy before gradually increasing her speed through timed practice sessions. Over time, this approach helped her turn Physics into one of her stronger subjects.

She also emphasised the importance of revision and mock tests in competitive examination preparation. According to her, regular assessments helped her identify mistakes, improve time management skills, and track progress consistently. She said repeated revision was essential for retaining concepts and reducing errors during the final examination.

Like many students preparing for competitive entrance tests, Rushi admitted that she experienced periods of stress and self-doubt during her preparation journey. However, she managed these challenges through meditation, support from family members, and guidance from teachers and mentors. She noted that maintaining emotional balance and a positive mindset were equally important alongside academic preparation.

Balancing Board examinations with entrance examination preparation was another challenge she faced. Rushi said she managed both by aligning Board syllabus topics with EAPCET preparation and maintaining weekly study goals. This approach, she said, helped avoid duplication of effort and allowed her to prepare efficiently for both examinations simultaneously.

As the first girl student to achieve this milestone in the history of TG EAPCET, Rushi encouraged girl students to believe in their abilities and remain focused on their goals. She said determination, consistency, and self-confidence matter more than circumstances or social perceptions.

Looking ahead, Rushi hopes to pursue Computer Science Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. She said she is interested in technology research and aims to contribute to innovative solutions that can positively impact everyday life.
