Chikkamagaluru: The Sringeri Sharada Peetham has unveiled a nationwide ‘Srimad Ramayana Examination – 2026’, offering school students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of India’s epic heritage while competing for attractive prizes.

The programme, organised under its educational wing ‘Bala Bharati’, is designed to make summer learning engaging and meaningful. It seeks to instil timeless values drawn from the Ramayana while encouraging disciplined study during school holidays.

Held with the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharyas Bharati Tirtha and Vidhushekhara Bharati, the initiative reflects the institution’s continued emphasis on cultural education.

The examination will be conducted in two categories: Level 1 for Classes 4–6 and Level 2 for Classes 7–10. Participants will be tested on their understanding of the Ramayana through multiple rounds.

Top performers will receive cash awards of Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000, and Rs 30,000, along with a special prize of Rs 10,000. Winners will also receive certificates, medals, books, and puzzles.

Additionally, high scorers will be awarded a sponsored educational visit to Sringeri, offering them a chance to connect with the spiritual and cultural heritage of the region.

The first round will be held on May 9, followed by advanced rounds on May 23 and 24. Registrations are open online.
