Hyderabad: Telangana State unit BJP President N Ramchander Rao emphasised that the NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is actively working towards building a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Telangana. N Ramchander Rao, who is visiting the US to participate in the American Telugu Association 19th conference and youth convention in Baltimore, was addressing a meet and greet programme with BJP supporters, well-wishers, and sympathisers.
He stated that citizens of Telangana are looking towards the BJP as the sole credible alternative, having grown weary of BRS and Congress, which he described as two sides of the same coin. He added that political surveys indicate the party is emerging as a powerful force in the state while thanking ATA members for facilitating the interaction.
Highlighting national achievements, N Ramchander Rao asserted that India now commands immense global respect and is moving firmly towards Viksit Bharat. He noted that the country is constructing highways at a record pace and undertaking massive infrastructure development to generate large-scale employment opportunities, positioning India as the fourth-largest economy worldwide.
He recalled that during the West Asia conflict, several nations faced severe oil crises and fuel rationing, whereas India avoided such distress through the strategic planning of Prime Minister Modi. Furthermore, the central government aims to transform youth into job creators rather than job seekers through schemes like Startup India, Stand-Up India, and MUDRA Yojana, making India the second-largest startup ecosystem globally.
The state BJP chief cited Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace, founded by young IITians, as an example of new India, recalling founder Pawan Chandana’s confidence regarding future commercial space travel. He stated that during Operation Sindoor last year, India demonstrated indigenous defence capabilities using Made-in-India systems, significantly boosting defence exports. On aviation infrastructure, he highlighted that airport numbers have doubled since 2014, with new facilities coming up in Warangal and Adilabad.
He noted that the central government extended unprecedented developmental support to Telangana, including raising tax devolution from 32 per cent to 42 per cent. He highlighted central initiatives including establishing AIIMS Telangana, Central Tribal University, approving Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City, strengthening Kazipet rail manufacturing, and supporting the PM MITRA Textile Park in Warangal.
He added that an enhanced railway budget compared to united Andhra Pradesh, new train services, and 12 national highway projects demonstrate central commitment. Attending as a distinguished guest, N Ramchander Rao interacted with prominent NRI Telugus, youth, and Indian community representatives.
