Mahesh Goud reaches Delhi with list of names, but high command focuses on voter revision exercise
Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud went to Delhi to participate in the meeting convened by the AICC with all PCC chiefs and CLP leaders. However, it is learnt that the TPCC went to Delhi with a list of names for nominated chairman posts.
It is learnt that on the first day, Monday, there was no time to discuss the issue of nominated posts. Moreover, AICC General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal was serious about the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) alleging that the Telangana Congress was adopting a negligent attitude towards the SIR process.
However, it is learnt that the TPCC chief may take up the issue of nominated posts with the party high command on Wednesday after the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Coordination Committee meeting, which will be held at 10 am at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Telangana Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. The meeting will review party organisational programmes and discuss the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative.
However, sources said that the TPCC chief may not dare to discuss the issue with the party high command, regarding nominated posts as it is serious about the SIR process. It was also learned that Venugopal expressed anger and unhappiness over the TPCC chief's performance regarding the SIR process, stating that it is the responsibility of the party rather than the government.
It may be recalled that Venugopal on Monday's meeting strictly instructed Telangana Congress leaders to ensure that the votes of Congress party sympathisers, the poor and weaker sections are protected.
He also asked the leaders to compare the information they collected during their exercise with the ground realities regarding the SIR process.
Venugopal also directed the party leaders to conduct a meeting on Wednesday with the coordinators appointed to coordinate between the government and the party under the leadership of the AICC in-charge General Secretary.
