TG HC advocates’ assn meets KTR, seeks fair representation in appointment of judges

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association called on BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Sunday and submitted a representation urging “adequate representation of advocates of Telangana origin” in the appointment of HC judges.

The delegation, led by association president S Surender Reddy, met Rao at his residence and presented him with a copy of the resolution passed by the extraordinary general body of the association at its special meeting on June 15.

The association representatives apprised KTR of a ‘persistent injustice’ being caused to Telangana advocates in HC appointments and impressed upon him the need for corrective action by authorities. The association appealed to KTR to lend support to its cause and to take up the issue with the appropriate authorities at the earliest. KTR responded positively to the representation and assured the delegation of the party’s support in pursuing the issue.

The representation was submitted by association president S Surender Reddy, secretaries P Shravan Kumar Goud and Kota Niranjan Reddy, vice-president Pandu, joint secretary Pulipalupula Krishna Keertana, treasurer Balaji Banoth, cultural secretary Vishnu Vardhan. Committee members Konda Reddy, Shilpa Gelli, Poolsingh Naik and P. Ravi were present.
