TG chefs revive grandmother’s lost recipes in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: The Telangana Chefs Association organised Culinary League 2.0 – “Grandma’s Lost Recipes” at KIMS College of Hotel Management in Karimnagar, showcasing the region’s traditional culinary heritage.
KIMS Group of Institutions Vice-Chairman Periyala Saketh Rama Rao, who attended as chief guest, highlighted the distinctive geographical and cultural influences on Telangana cuisine. He said traditional dishes are known for their spicy flavours and extensive use of sorghum, sajja and ragi. He also recalled the popularity of native chicken and mutton preparations.
Students prepared and displayed several traditional dishes, including sorghum gatka, pachipulusu, garlic chutney, ambali and sarvapindi (ginnepindi), along with other Telangana delicacies.
Telangana Chefs Association founder and secretary Chef Naveen, Vice-President Chef Rizwan, Treasurer Chef Cyril and other members participated in the event. KIMS principals Goutham and Arjun Rao, faculty members and around 500–600 students from KIMS and other city colleges attended the programme.
