BRS will fight MLC polls with renewed vigour: Vaddiraju
In Short
Urges party workers to intensify preparations

Vaddiraju Ravichandra
Khammam: BRS Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra on Monday urged party workers to intensify preparations for the upcoming elections to the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates’ constituency of the Telangana Legislative Council.
Addressing a meeting of party coordinators from five Assembly constituencies at Telangana Bhavan in Khammam, Ravichandra claimed that public support for former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was increasing. He attributed this to what he described as the popularity of the welfare and development programmes implemented during the previous BRS government.
The MP alleged that the Congress government failed to fulfill its election promises and that all sections of society are dissatisfied with its performance.
He alleged that the state government failed to make adequate use of floodwaters of the Godavari and Krishna rivers and claimed that inadequate irrigation and power supply had affected agriculture. He also alleged that reduced coal production and supply from Singareni had affected thermal power generation.
Ravichandra said the BRS would contest the forthcoming Graduates’ MLC elections with renewed focus and claimed that the party would perform strongly in the former Khammam district.
He also urged eligible graduates to register as voters for the forthcoming elections.
According to information reported the electoral rolls for the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates’ constituency are being prepared afresh, with eligible graduates required to complete the enrolment process within the notified deadline.
At a separate awareness meeting held at the camp office of former Palair MLA Kandala Upender Reddy in Khammam, Ravichandra asked party workers to personally contact graduates, including students, unemployed youth, teachers and employees, and facilitate their enrolment.
He said eligible graduates should submit Form-18 for inclusion in the electoral roll and stressed that those who had voted in previous Graduates’ MLC elections would also have to re-enrol for the forthcoming polls. He urged party workers not only to facilitate registration but also to encourage voters to exercise their franchise.
Party leaders and workers raised slogans in support of Telangana and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao during the programme.
