Kothagudem
Government-run hospitals under the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) in Bhadradri Kothagudem district have secured top honours at the state level for delivering quality healthcare services in tribal regions, officials said on Tuesday.
The awards were presented during the Health Week celebrations held as part of the 99-day Praja Palana progress programme.
Hospitals functioning under the supervision of District Coordinator of Hospital Services (DCHS) Dr G. Ravi Babu achieved the highest number of awards.
The awards were presented by Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha at a ceremony at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad. Senior officials, including Health Secretary Christina, Family Welfare Commissioner Sangeeta, TVVP Commissioner Ajay Kumar, and other department heads, were present on the occasion.
Among the awardees were doctors and staff from various hospitals, including Community Health Centre (CHC) Palvoncha and Area Hospitals at Bhadrachalam and Manuguru. Recognised personnel included specialists in orthopaedics, anaesthesia, paediatrics, nursing staff, and laboratory services, along with teams achieving high performance in ABAS services.
In addition, three awards under the ‘Best Performance in Tribal Area’ category were presented to DCHS Dr Ravi Babu along with medical superintendents Dr Ramakrishna, Dr Gouri Prasad, and Dr Sai Vardhan for their services in tribal areas such as Bhadrachalam, Manuguru, and Cherla.
Officials said the recognition reflects the commitment of TVVP hospitals in improving healthcare access and outcomes in underserved tribal regions. The district’s healthcare institutions have previously received accolades at the state level, and the latest awards further reinforce their reputation for excellence in public health services.
