Certain leaders stoking factionalism in party: DCC chief Sugunakka
Asifabad: District Congress Committee (DCC) president Atram Sugunakka alleged that certain leaders within the DCC are conspiring to weaken the organisation by stoking factionalism for their own selfish interests.
Addressing a media conference at the DCC office on Thursday, she asserted that she is a daughter of the Adivasi community, born and raised on the soil of Kumram Bheem, and that portraying her as a “non-local” is an insult to the people of the district and the Adivasi community at large.
She stressed that she has been working with the Congress party continuously since 1995 without ever switching allegiances, and the party high command entrusted her with the role of DCC president in recognition of her performance.
She criticised the actions of certain leaders—who lured party workers to Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad to level allegations against her—as a mere political drama. She alleged that these individuals were attempting to tarnish the party’s reputation out of frustration over not securing desired positions.
She warned that she would not tolerate any such action that violates party discipline, emphasising that the Congress is a party of its workers, not merely of individuals. She warned that appropriate action would be taken at the right time against those openly opposing the high command’s decisions.
She called upon all party workers to remain united, avoid falling prey to misconceptions, and strive towards strengthening the Congress party.
Speaking on the occasion, former Market Committee chairman Gadeveni Mallesh said that it was inappropriate to criticize them for having joined from other parties. He asked whether CM Revanth and Minister Jupally had not also come from other parties and worked towards the development of the Congress party. Leaders and party workers participated in the event.
