Parents must support children with disabilities: Srinivasa Reddy

Nizamabad: Parents should ensure proper care, encouragement and education for children with disabilities and avoid neglecting them, chief guest Srinivasa Reddy said on Tuesday.
He was addressing a parents’ meeting organised at the Sneha Society for Rural Reconstruction’s Special School for the Blind at Tarakarama Nagar. Reddy said parents played a crucial role in shaping the future of children with disabilities and helping them grow into self-reliant and responsible citizens.
He appreciated the Sneha Society for its dedicated efforts towards the discipline, education and overall development of students. He also urged parents to actively support their children and make use of the facilities and services provided by the institution.

He also conducted elections to the Local Project Committee in accordance with Central Government guidelines.
Following the completion of the previous committee’s term, parents elected a new committee for a period of two years. Mala Kondaiah was elected chairman, Kanakaiah vice-chairman and Venkatesh, a teacher, as convenor. Parents Anuradha and Hari Kiran Naik were elected as members.
Special School principal S. Jyothi, Mental Disability School principal Rajeshwari, parents and staff members attended the meeting.
