Rs 30.61 cr infra projects to transform Chinnamandem mandal

A total of 105 projects will improve roads, healthcare, education, drinking water and other public facilities
Madanapalle: Chinnamandem mandal in Annamayya district is set to undergo a major transformation with development works worth Rs 30.61 crore being taken up across 12 gram panchayats. A total of 105 infrastructure projects have been sanctioned to improve road connectivity, healthcare, education, drinking water supply and other public facilities in the rural mandal.
Minister for Transport Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy said strengthening rural infrastructure is one of the coalition government’s priorities and the works have been planned based on local needs and public demand. The programme includes the construction of cement concrete roads, BT roads, culverts, drainage systems, Anganwadi buildings, health sub-centres, community halls, retaining walls and drinking water facilities.
Among the gram panchayats, Bodireddigaripalli has received the highest allocation with 16 works worth Rs 8.41 crore. Vandadi has been sanctioned Rs 5.25 crore for 10 works, while Chinnamandem has been allotted Rs 2.91 crore for 20 works. Devagudipalli will take up 12 works worth Rs 2.20 crore and T Sakibanda has received Rs 2.23 crore for 10 works. Road connectivity forms the largest part of the programme. Major projects include restoration of a BT road in Bodireddigaripalli at a cost of Rs 4.25 crore, two BT roads in Vandadi worth more than Rs 3.54 crore, a Rs 1.95 crore road connecting R&R Colony and Patavattamvandlapalli in Kothapalli, a temple approach road in Devagudipalli, a BT road linking T Sakibanda and Apilavankapalli, and a Rs 1.39 crore BT road in Bonamala.
The programme also includes construction of a veterinary hospital, a rural haat and a compound wall for Zilla Parishad Girls’ High School in Chinnamandem. Devagudipalli will get a completed primary health clinic and infrastructure at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, while Diguvagottiveedu will see completion of Anganwadi works and a compound wall for the village clinic.
The works are being funded through multiple schemes, including MGNREGS, District Mineral Foundation, Zilla Parishad funds, the Social Welfare Department, National Health Mission, PMGSY and NABARD.
Minister Ramprasad Reddy said the objective is not only to create infrastructure but also to improve the quality of life in villages by providing better roads, healthcare, education and public facilities. He said the programme would strengthen agriculture, improve access to services and support the government’s Swarna Andhra 2047 vision for rural development.
