Tirupati: Afterdecades of delays, the long-pending Settipalli land issue has reached a historic resolution with the official launch of the land registration process, sparking happiness among local residents.

TUDA Chairman C Divakar Reddy led the event. TUDA Vice Chairman R Govinda Rao and Tirupati Urban District Registrar Sriram Kumar participated.

Villagers and farmers expressed profound gratitude to the government and officials, specially honoring TUDA Chairman C Divakar Reddy, the Joint Collector, and Vice Chairman R Govinda Rao for accelerating the process.

Speaking on the occasion, TUDA Chairman C Divakar Reddy stated that the 40-50-year-old problem has now been resolved.

"Within my first 100 days in office, I fulfilled my promise to address this, which brings me immense satisfaction," he added.

Divakar said the process is fully transparent, with no delays, and clear title deeds are being issued promptly.

This milestone is credited to the relentless efforts of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh, Collector, and TUDA officials. He said in a major relief, the government is covering the entire Rs 16 crore registration fee, ensuring beneficiaries incur zero costs. Around 900 poor families holding less than 2 cents of land will receive full 2 cents free, as per the Chief Minister's directives.

Plans are underway to transform Settipalli into a mega township, complete with roads, drainage, electricity, and a cremation ground, he added. Divakar Reddy assured comprehensive support for residents' future needs.

The registration commenced at Tirupati Town, Rural, and Renigunta Sub-Registrar Offices. Urban Registrar Neeraja, TUDA Secretary Dr Y N Sreekanth Babu, CPO Devi Kumari, SE Ravindraiah, Land Acquisition Officer Sujana, Urban Tahsildar Suresh Babu, JPO Vasudeva Naidu were present.
