Swachh Andhra, PM SHRI School, ZPHS Nunna, School Cleanliness, VijayawadaPMSHRI Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Nunna in Vijayawada Rural mandal of NTR district, has bagged the district-level award in the Swachh Andhra Awards (SASA)-2026 for its outstanding efforts in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and environmental standards on the school premises.

The award was presented at a programme held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada on Monday evening. Twenty-Point Programme Implementation Committee chairman Lanka Dinakar and NTR district collector Dr G Lakshmisha presented the award to school Headmaster Surapaneni Ravi Prasad in the presence of District Educational Officer L Chandrakala.

Interestingly, PM SHRI ZPHS Nunna is the only Zilla Parishad School in the district to receive the prestigious award. The school has been maintaining a clean, green and hygienic environment by implementing various sanitation and cleanliness initiatives and promoting environmental protection among students.

The school has also received strong support from its Old Students Association and local donors in developing the campus. With their assistance, development works worth around Rs 1.50 crore have been taken up so far, helping improve the overall learning environment and basic amenities on the premises. The school has planted a large number of saplings on the campus to enhance greenery and promote environmental conservation. These initiatives have helped create a clean, green, healthy and pleasant atmosphere for students and staff, contributing to the school’s success in winning the prestigious award. On Tuesday, School Management Committee Chairperson Mullangi Soniya, Vice-Chairperson Meda Narayana, co-option member Naredla Satyanarayana Reddy, high school staff secretaries P Nageswara Rao and Padmavaji and other teaching staff congratulated Headmaster Ravi Prasad on receiving the award.
