Blood donation camp held

Visakhapatnam: A mega blood donation camp was organised at Divi's Laboratories Limited in Chippada, Bheemunipatnam on the occasion of 56th birth anniversary of late Satya Chandra Divi.

Company’s vice-president LV Ramana, along with general managers YS Koteswara Rao, E Ramakrishna Punnarao and Prajumna, inaugurated blood donation camp.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice-president stated that in memory of late general manager Satya Chandra Divi, employees, particularly women employees, have been voluntarily donating blood annually for the past 23 years.

General manager YS Koteswara Rao mentioned that a total of 1,200 people donated blood under the supervision of nine blood bank centres from north Andhra districts. He noted that various blood banks, including NTR, Life Share, Red Cross from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam, and AS Raja Voluntary Blood Bank collected the donated units of blood.

Blood banks’ representatives informed that the collected blood units would benefit emergency situations and the underprivileged.
