DRUCC member pitches for operation of Humsafar Express via Vizag

Visakhapatnam: Expressinggratitude to the railway authorities for the introduction of new Humsafar Express (17439/17440) train service between Tirupati and Srikakulam, member of Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC), Visakhapatnam Division, Chalasani Gandhi appealed to railway authorities to operate the train via Visakhapatnam instead of Duvvada.
Underlining that Visakhapatnam is the gateway to North Andhra and operating via Vizag would serve a larger number of passengers travelling to Tirupati, Gandhi appealed to the authorities to consider the proposal.
The DRUCC member appreciated the initiative, stating that it will significantly enhance connectivity and travel convenience between the two regions. He opined that the new train service will be highly beneficial to various sections of society, including pilgrims, students, and employees, while also contributing to regional development.
Highlighting the heavy passenger rush for the existing Tirumala Express running between Visakhapatnam and Tirupati, he recalled the long-pending public demand for an additional train on that route.
