Political parties asked to support SIR drive in Asifabad

Asifabad: District Collector K Haritha on Monday urged representatives of political parties to extend full cooperation for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the district.
Chairing a review meeting with representatives of recognised political parties at the Integrated District Collectorate conference hall, the Collector discussed preparations for the voter list revision programme scheduled to be conducted from June 25 to July 24. District Revenue Officer Dasari Venu and Asifabad Revenue Divisional Officer Lokeshwar Rao were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Haritha emphasised the importance of political parties actively participating in the revision process to ensure the accuracy and transparency of electoral rolls. She informed the participants that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would distribute enumeration forms to all voters and collect the completed forms during door-to-door visits.
The Collector said that officials would record voter details through a dedicated mobile application while conducting field verification. To facilitate the exercise, volunteers, including Panchayat Secretaries, Village Federation coordinators, youth association representatives and community elders, would assist BLOs in carrying out the revision process effectively.
She stated that Tahsildars, supervisors and district-level officials would closely monitor the programme to ensure its successful implementation. Haritha also appealed to political party representatives to cooperate with election officials and submit the details of their booth-level agents at the earliest.
