Telugu Woman From Maripeda Dies in US Road Accident
WARANGAL: Daram Supraja (30), a native of Maripeda mandal in Mahabubabad district, died in a road accident in the United States. She was living in St. Louis, Missouri, with her family and was running a restaurant there.
On Saturday night, after closing the restaurant as usual, Supraja was returning home in a car along with a friend when a speeding truck rammed into their vehicle. Supraja suffered severe injuries and died on the spot, while her friend sustained serious injuries.
Supraja is survived by her husband and a young son. News of her death left her family members and relatives in Maripeda in deep grief, and a pall of gloom descended on her native village.
Meanwhile, officials of the Indian Embassy in the United States are reportedly coordinating with the family to take necessary steps for repatriating Supraja’s mortal remains to India. Her family members are awaiting information from officials on when the body will reach their native place.
