DMK Workers Hold Protest In Theni Over The Detention Of Udhayanidhi Stalin

Workers of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) protested on Tuesday in Theni against the detention of Tamil Nadu Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin. The detention was held in order to a case alleging derogatery remarks made on actor Trisha Krishnan.

The copy claims that former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam spearheaded the demonstration.

Amit Malviya of the BJP criticised DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and his remarks. He added that the detention was long overdue, citing the comments for which the Tamil Nadu lawmaker was charged. He added that the man who mistreated Sanatan Dharma, Udhayanidhi Stalin, has been detained for his disgusting and defamatory statement about a woman. He remarked, “Udhayanidhi Stalin, the man who abused Sanatan Dharma, has been arrested for his vile and slanderous remark involving a woman. It was time he met this fate.”

Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi Stalin claimed on Tuesday that a "fake narrative" had been fabricated against him following his arrest by the police in relation to a case involving his purported comments regarding actor Trisha Krishnan.

Speaking to media following his detention, Udhayanidhi rejected all the claims regarding the remarks. He added that the content had been altered and misrepresented in order to increase the tension. He added, "They have propagated fake news by using 'Cut, Copy, Paste' to claim I said something I never said. I am not the kind of person to be intimidated by all this. I will face it legally," Udhayanidhi Stalin said. He continued to call the police action against him as 'comedy.'

The controversy started after a police report was filed at the Thanjavur East Police Station for the alleged remarks on Trisha Krishnan during a speech on the event regarding Cauvery water dispute.
