Elections 2026 Live Updates: Voter turnout by 9 AM — Assam records 17.87%, Kerala 16.23%, Puducherry 17.41%

The voter turnout in the ongoing Assembly elections showed a stable start on Thursday morning. By 9 am The participation recorded at 17.87 per cent in Assam, 17.41 per cent in Puducherry and 16.23 per cent in Kerala.
As per the elections 2026 live updates India, Kerala recorded a voter turnout of16.23% till 9 Am. While in Assam, about 17.87% is recorded. In Puducherry, it is about 17.41%. In the two states and union territory, voting starts at 7 AM on Thursday and will conclude till 6pm. High security has been stepped up in view of the voting in the high-stakes elections.
In Kerala, about 2.71 crore electors will finalise the fate of 883 candidates for its 140-member Legislative Assembly. Voter turnout in Assam Kerala, and Puducherry is going to be a quite tight contest in the middle of the
Ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF),
Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF)
BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
In Assam, polling for 126 seats will be held now, where more than 2.50 crore electors are eligible to give a vote for 722 candidates. The BJP-led NDA is looking for a third consecutive win. On the other hand, the Congress-led alliance comprises Raijor Dal and CPI(M).
In Nagaland, voting state elections live coverage in India will take place for the Koridang assembly in Nagaland’s Mokokchung district. Here, the by election was necessitated by the death of sitting BJP MLA Imkong L. Imchen in November 2025.
The process of the voting will also be held in Karnataka’s Bagalkot and Davanagere South assembly areas. Here, the by-elections were required by the deaths of senior Congress MLAs H Y Meti and Shamanur Shivashankarappa.
