Gwalior Wedding Turns Violent As Mob Attacks Groom’s Family Over Alcohol Money Dispute

A wedding in Gwalior spiraled into violence after villagers attacked the groom’s family for refusing money for alcohol, leaving several injured and triggering a police probe.
A wedding celebration in Gwalior took a shocking turn when a dispute over money for alcohol led to a violent clash involving the groom’s family and local villagers.
The incident took place on March 30, shortly after the bride arrived at her matrimonial home following the ceremony. While the family and guests were having a meal, a group of villagers reportedly approached them and demanded money to buy alcohol. When the request was denied, the situation quickly escalated.
The group allegedly began verbally abusing the family before launching a physical attack. The bride, her mother, and several members of the groom’s family were injured in the assault. The bride’s mother later filed a complaint with the police regarding the incident.
In addition to the violence, the attackers are accused of looting cash and other valuables from the house during the chaos. Guests present at the scene attempted to step in and calm the situation, but tensions between the two sides remained high.
Those injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and are reported to be recovering.
Both parties have lodged complaints, and the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Authorities have assured that appropriate action will be taken against those involved as the case progresses.
