A court in Agra has awarded the death penalty to a man and his family members for the brutal 2022 killing of his wife and her cousin over suspected affair allegations.

A court in Agra has handed down the death sentence to a man, along with his father and brother, in connection with a 2022 double murder case involving his wife and her cousin. The court also imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on each of the three convicts.
The incident occurred in the Etmadpur area, where the accused allegedly killed the two victims over suspicions of an illicit relationship. According to reports, the cousin, Shivam Sisodia, frequently visited the house due to family connections, which led to growing suspicion within the household.
On May 27, 2022, the family allegedly caught the woman and her cousin together at home. They were reportedly dragged out into the street, beaten with sticks, and later attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. The assault was particularly brutal, with multiple blows inflicted in a short span of time.
After the killings, the bodies were found in different locations—one at the house entrance and the other on the road. Following the incident, the accused’s father and brother surrendered to the police, while the main accused was said to have remained at the scene.
During the investigation, police recovered the weapon used in the crime along with other evidence. The case was supported by testimonies from witnesses and CCTV footage presented in court.
After reviewing the evidence and hearing arguments from both sides, the court found all three men guilty and awarded them the death penalty. The accused’s mother, however, was acquitted due to insufficient evidence.
Despite the verdict, the convicts reportedly showed no visible reaction and stated that they plan to challenge the decision in the High Court.
