Two youth die in tractor-bike crash

Berhampur: Tw youths died in a road accident near Bhushunda village on Digapahandi–Ghodahada Dam main road in Ganjam district on Tuesday.
The victims, Tofan Gouda (25) and Sumit Kumar Panda (26), both residents of Palajhadi village under Chasa Nimakhandi panchayat, were returning home on a motorcycle after completing their work in Digapahandi. Fate took a cruel turn when a stone-laden tractor, driven at a perilous speed and in utter disregard of safety, rammed into their vehicle from the opposite direction.
The violent collision hurled the duo onto the road, leaving them grievously injured. Though they were rushed to Digapahandi Community Health Centre, doctors pronounced them brought dead, leaving families and villagers in inconsolable grief.
Following the incident, a case has been registered at Digapahandi police station. Police seized the ill-fated motorcycle and the tractor, while the driver fled the spot.
The bodies were sent to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for post-mortem and later handed over to the bereaved families.
The tragic episode stands as a grim reminder of the fatal consequences of reckless driving, leaving behind a trail of shattered dreams and mourning hearts.
