Toddler accidentally falls into water sump; drowns

A toddler lost his life after accidentally falling into his neighbour’s water sump in Hyderabad late on Friday.

The two-year-old boy was identified as Rakshit, son of Bhaskar, a watchman from Boduppal in Medipally.

As per the reports, the boy was playing in the neighbourhood when he stepped on the sump cover which allegedly was not properly covered and fell into it.

Hearing the noise, the neighbours rushed to his rescue and shifted him to a local hospital, where the doctor’s declared him dead.

A case has been registered against the house owner and further investigation is underway.
