Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Announces 2% DA Hike for Govt Employees and Teachers

In a major move just days after winning the trust vote in the State Assembly, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has announced a 2% increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for Tamil Nadu government employees, teachers, and pensioners.

The announcement, made on Thursday, May 14, 2026, fulfills a key expectation of state workers. The revision raises the DA from its current 58% to 60%, bringing state allowances in line with central government standards.
