Khammam: The Forest Department in Khammam district has undertaken a major initiative to improve educational standards and infrastructure in government primary schools located in tribal areas of Sathupalli, officials said.

District Forest Officer Siddharth Vikram Singh said the works are being carried out with the support of HDFC Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds in schools situated in the reserve forest villages of Chandrayapalem and Regallapadu. “The initiative aims to provide tribal students with a quality learning environment comparable to that available in urban areas and to encourage greater interest in education among children in remote regions,” he said.

As part of the programme, the schools have been equipped with modern facilities, including interactive digital panels and uninterrupted power supply. Classrooms have been repainted in white and blue colours to create a brighter and more engaging atmosphere.

In addition, new electrical fittings, wiring, fans and lighting systems have been installed. The schools have also been provided with curtains and new benches to improve comfort and functionality for students.

Singh said the initiative is expected to significantly improve learning outcomes and help reduce dropout rates among tribal students by creating a more conducive educational environment.

He expressed gratitude to HDFC Bank for its financial support, while students and teachers of the beneficiary schools thanked the Forest Department for its efforts to enhance educational facilities in the region.
