Bullet train land row: HC bars HYDRAA from coercive action in Bahadurguda

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court single bench of Justice Bollam Vijaysen Reddy on Monday directed the Commissioner of HYDRAA not to take any coercive steps against 26.03 acres of agricultural land in Bahadurguda village, Shamshabad mandal, until the next hearing. The land forms part of a larger 650-acre parcel the government is acquiring for the proposed bullet train project.
The judge heard the case as a lunch-motion writ filed by Jakkidi Yadi Reddy and three others, all residents of Bahadurguda. They challenged HYDRAA move to enter their land, measuring 26.06 acres in survey no. 335 and erect a fence around it.
Counsel for petitioners Raghunath informed the court that his clients are agriculturists who have held the land since 1989-90 under valid registered sale deeds, and have owned it for the past three decades. He said on July 18 a HYDRAA team entered the land, brought bulldozers and JCBs, demolished gates and fenced 26.06 acres, blocking the petitioners from entering to carry out farming. He asked the court to restrain HYDRAA from interfering with the land, adding the petitioners use it to grow crops.
Advocate-General A Sudarshan Reddy disputed the petitioners’ claim of ownership. He said they had failed to produce valid registered sale deeds, pahanis, title documents, e-pass books, or link documents to support the claim, which they place in survey nos. 3 and 5. Reddy submitted that a large stretch of government land, measuring 650 acres, lies in survey nos. 28 and 62 of Bahadurguda.
