DGP announces launch of 'Arrive-Alive' Road Safety Campaign

Telangana DGP Shivadhar Reddy announced the launch of the 'Arrive-Alive' programme across the state to curb road accidents. The initiative, scheduled from 13th to 18th of this month as part of the Public Governance - Progress Plan, is being organised in coordination with all government departments.
Reddy highlighted that a significant number of road accidents worldwide occur in India, with most fatalities involving two-wheeler riders, pedestrians, and road users. The state government is implementing various programmes aimed at public welfare and safety.
He instructed that the campaign be promoted from the village level, including MPTCs, Sarpanchs, and the Chief Minister. Reddy also recommended forming a road safety committee in each village, comprising 8 to 9 members such as retired employees, women, and representatives of voluntary organisations. Public awareness programmes are to be organised, and officers from different departments were urged to work together to ensure the programme's success.
