Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday advised Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha that if she cannot bring happiness to the family, she should at least avoid causing it distress.

The BRS leader shared this opinion when asked by reporters in an informal interaction (chit chat) with the media during the Mancherial district tour on Sunday.

The BRS leader said he had nothing to say regarding the Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha. However, he said, “While it is acceptable if children do not manage to make their father happy, they certainly should not cause them to weep.”

The BRS leader observed that politics are temporary--they come and go--but causing distress to others is not a moral approach.

He noted that anyone is free to establish a political party; however, without public support, such an endeavour would ultimately be futile. He remarked that there is nothing wrong with founding a party if it is done with the aim of serving the people. He added that if a party is formed merely to address personal grievances, it is unlikely to gain public attention.

The BRS leader clarified that political alliances do not work in their favour. He recalled that whenever they contested elections in alliance with other parties, they ended up facing defeat. He reminded everyone that in both 2014 and 2018, they contested independently, emerged victorious, and successfully assumed power. KTR further remarked that even in 2023, despite contesting alone and putting up a strong fight, they ultimately suffered a defeat.

He said that there was no truth in the rumors that BRS was looking for a tie up with BJP. He said that it was the Congress which is closer to BJP. He asked why the intellectuals were not raising their voice. He said don’t know where the leaders like Prof M Kodandaram have gone.

KTR said that there will be no loss to South with the delimitation of constituencies.

He said that the present share of 24 per cent will remain even if the seats are increased to 50 per cent. He said that it was a misconception that the people who go to jail will become Chief Minister. He said that there were many leaders in undivided Andhra Pradesh who have not gone to jail.

He said that they had to lose the election because of the MLA centric politics and there was communication gap between the party and workers.
