Somapangu Suraiah has risen from being an office attender to becoming the Tahsildar of from where he once began his career

Suryapet: In an inspiring journey that proves perseverance can turn dreams into reality, Somapangu Suraiah has risen from being an office attender to becoming the Tahsildar of the very same office where he once began his career.

About three decades ago, Suraiah’s role was to carry out the tasks assigned by officials in the Nadigudem Tahsildar office. Today, he has returned to that same office—not as a subordinate, but as its head. His transformation has become a source of inspiration for many.

Hailing from Raghavapuram village in Ananthagiri mandal of Suryapet district, Suraiah is the third among seven children of S Bhadraiah. In 1995, after his father took voluntary retirement due to ill health,

Suraiah secured a job as an attender on compassionate grounds and served from June 26, 1995, to 2000.

However, he did not settle for this position. With strong determination, he continued his education and steadily climbed the professional ladder. He worked as an attender in Munagala and later in Nadigudem offices, before earning a promotion as Junior Assistant in 2006. Over the years, he served in multiple roles including Senior Assistant, Revenue Inspector, and Deputy Tahsildar across various mandals.

His dedication and consistent performance led to further responsibilities, including election duties and serving as in-charge Tahsildar. From 2022 to 2024, he worked as Deputy Tahsildar in Mothe mandal, and later continued in Kodad. On January 8, 2026, he served as Tahsildar in Chintalapalem mandal, and on March 31, 2026, he assumed charge as Tahsildar of Nadigudem mandal—the very place where his journey began.

Expressing his happiness, he said that returning to the same office as Tahsildar is a dream come true. He thanked District Collector Tejan Nandulal Pawar for the opportunity and also expressed gratitude to Kodad RDO Suryanarayana for their support.

Suraiah's personal life also reflects his values—his elder daughter is preparing for Group services, while his younger daughter is practicing as a lawyer in the High Court.
