Massive Fire Engulfs Container Lorry in Medak District

A large fire broke out on a container lorry travelling along National Highway NH-44 near Toopran in Medak district. The vehicle, en route from Maharashtra to Hyderabad, was completely consumed by flames, causing widespread panic on the busy highway.
Police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the blaze. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
According to officials, the lorry was transporting eight brand-new Maruti cars. The fire spread rapidly, destroying the container and all the vehicles inside. The towering flames created chaos, prompting residents to alert authorities. Firefighters arrived promptly and, after strenuous efforts, managed to bring the blaze under control.
The fire caused traffic disruptions on NH-44, with police temporarily halting vehicles heading towards Hyderabad as a precaution. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident, though officials estimate property damage worth several crores of rupees.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit or technical fault. The incident resulted in a significant traffic jam, causing inconvenience to commuters. Authorities have confirmed that the situation is now stabilised.
