Telangana Police & FSSAI Warn Against Food Adulteration; Guidelines Issued to Hyderabad Traders

As part of a public awareness drive on food adulteration prevention and food safety measures, traders of Begum Bazar participated in an awareness meeting organized by The Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association in coordination with Telangana Police and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Monday evening.
The programme, held at Begum Bazar, focused on educating kirana traders about important food safety guidelines, including maintaining cleanliness in business premises, regular pest control, proper storage practices, selling only FSSAI-licensed products, and strictly avoiding expired or adulterated food items. Traders were also advised to maintain separate covered dustbins for food waste and ensure hygienic handling of food products.
Police officials, food safety authorities, and association representatives addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of safe food practices in protecting public health and strengthening consumer trust. The initiative aimed to promote responsible trading under the message: “Safe Food, Strong Business – Our Responsibility.”
