Andhra Cricket Association to host APL from June 9 in three venues

Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is all set to usher in a new chapter in domestic cricket with the launch of the much-awaited Andhra Premier League (APL), scheduled for June 9 in Visakhapatnam.m The prestigious tournament is expected to bring together some of the finest cricketing talent from across the state, further strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s growing stature in Indian domestic cricket.

The official schedule for ‘APL 2026’ was unveiled by Chairman of the Governing Council for the Andhra Premier League RV Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, who expressed confidence that the league would emerge as a major platform for nurturing youngcricketers and promoting competitive cricket across the region. The tournament will feature seven franchise teams battling in an exciting round-robin league format with matches set to be hosted across three key centres, including Visakhapatnam, Kadapa and Mangalagiri.

The participating teams for the 2026 edition include Bhimavaram Bulls, Royals of Rayalaseema, Vijayawada Sunshiners, Amaravathi Royals, Simhadri Lions, Kakinada Kings and Thungabhadhra Warriors. With preparations for the tournament already in progress, all franchises are currently engaged in intensive practice sessions at various venues across the state.

Cricket enthusiasts across Andhra Pradesh are eagerly looking forward to the tournament, which promises thrilling contests, electrifying performances and an opportunity to witness emerging stars in action at world-class venues. The tournament will be organised under the leadership of ACA president and secretary Kesineni Chinni and Sana Satish Babu, whose efforts are widely appreciated for strengthening thecricketing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.
