CM to lay foundation for state’s first semiconductor manufacturing unit in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: As June month unfolds a series of significant engagements, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to focus on revamping the region’s economic and industrial future, visiting Visakhapatnam on June 5 and again on 8.

His itinerary indicates the State’s commitment to strengthening its place as a hub for global investment, technological advancement and sustainable development. On June 5, the Chief Minister will join Union Ministers and distinguished delegates at the coveted national conference on Seafood Exports scheduled at Novotel.

The conference is expected to bring together key stakeholders from across the country, providing a vital platform to discuss opportunities, innovations and strategies to further enhance India’s seafood export sector. Following which, the Chief Minister will lead a comprehensive review of Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER), underlining the government’s focus on accelerating economic growth and unlocking the immense potential of the region. The CM will also participate in another significant programme at the same venue, engaging with industry leaders and policymakers on the matters of strategic importance.

Again, the Chief Minister’s visit to Visakhapatnam on June 8 gains significance in terms of sustainable energy and technological shift.

Chief Minister Naidu will proceed to the Centre of Excellence for Energy Transition (COEET) building near ISKCON Temple and take part in a series of programmes dedicated to advancing State’s vision for sustainable energy and technological transformation.

Energy transition and innovation are expected to take center stage during a series of discussions and sessions scheduled for the day.

As part of the itinerary, the CM will proceed to Tarluvada where he will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Advanced System in Package Technologies Private Limited’s outsourced semiconductor assembly and test facility, strategically located near the proposed Google Data Centre.

The first semiconductor manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh, initiated with an investment of Rs 2,388 crore, marks another major milestone in the State’s journey toward becoming a leading destination for high-technology manufacturing and semiconductor investments, paving the way for employment generation, industrial growth and technological excellence.

Underlining the importance of the CM’s forthcoming visits, district Collector M Abhishikth Kishore directed all the departments concerned to undertake meticulous preparations. Emphasising seamless coordination between Central and State government agencies, he called upon officials to work in coordination with each other to ensure successful conduct of the programmes.

Special attention has been paid to security arrangements, with police authorities maintaining vigilant supervision and strict enforcement.

To facilitate smooth participation of delegates, dignitaries and officials, Joint Collectors and DROs have been tasked with overseeing the issuance of delegate, VIP and duty passes.

In addition, helpdesks will be set up at airport and railway station to provide guidance and assistance to visitors arriving for the coveted events.
