Cooperate to develop Nellore dist: Anam

Nellore: Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy appealed both public representatives and officials to extend their cooperation for development of the district. Addressing Zilla Parishad general body meeting, chaired by its chairperson Anam Arunamma, on Wednesday, he said the government is keen on releasing funds for the completion of pending works like road repairs, construction of Secretariat buildings, health centres and school infrastructure projects. But it will be a mammoth task without the cooperation of politicos and official machinery, he added.
He informed that one more meeting will be held before the tenure of the present ZP governing body concludes in three months.
Minister P Narayana said road repairs, completion of secretariat buildings, construction of health centres and improvement of school infrastructure were discussed during the meeting and the government would take necessary steps to address them.
Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy pointed out that many government schools in Kovur constituency lack adequate dining facilities, causing inconvenience to students. Stating that development works like construction of CC roads, side drains, cremation grounds etc in SC and ST colonies in the constituency were pending for the past two years, she requested allocation of ZP funds to complete them.
Chairperson Anam Arunamma directed officials of all departments to take immediate steps to address the issues raised by members, with special focus on road infrastructure.
Joint Collector Mogili Venkateswarlu, ZP members, senior officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
