Govt taking TN fishing boats into AP waters
Kondapi: Social Welfare Minister Dr Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy reaffirmed that the coalition government stands firmly beside the fishing community. In a press release issued on Saturday, the Minister stated that the government has taken strong measures to prevent illegal intrusion by Karaikal boats into Andhra Pradesh waters. He said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has constituted a high-level committee to review the situation and has ordered the deployment of four mechanised boats.
He said marine police and drones are conducting continuous surveillance along the coastline to prevent boats from other states from illegally entering AP waters. The Minister highlighted key welfare measures, including an increase in the fishing ban compensation to Rs 20,000, and the provision of subsidized nets and motorboats. He assured that CM Naidu will not allow any hardship to befall the fishing community.
