IT Minister offers moral support to VSP accident victims

Visakhapatnam: IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh assured them that both the Central and state governments will stand by the bereaved family members and victims affected by the accident at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and provide all possible support.

Meeting the victims’ families at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, Lokesh expressed profound grief over the loss of lives, interacted with the bereaved family members and conveyed his heartfelt condolences.

Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani, Member of Parliament M. Sribharat, TDP state president Palla Srinivasa Rao and Chintakayala Vijay, among others, accompanied Nara Lokesh and extended moral support to the affected families to cope with the loss.

The IT Minister emphasised that the government would remain committed to the welfare of the affected families throughout their lives and would ensure that they are not left alone in the aftermath of the tragedy. Recalling the collective efforts to revive the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Lokesh mentioned that the plant was protected through the united struggle of people and leaders, underlining the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of its workforce.

Also, the IT Minister stated that appropriate action would be initiated after the committee submits its comprehensive report on the accident. He reiterated the government's resolve to thoroughly examine the accident's causes and consider every possible measure to prevent such incidents from recurring.
