Akash Goparaju, son of popular playback singer Sunitha, is gearing up to entertain audiences with his second film, ‘Kotha Malupu’. Directed by Shiva Varaprasad Kesanakurthi, the romantic love-and-suspense entertainer is all set for a theatrical release on June 12. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Konaseema, the film has already created good buzz among movie lovers.
As part of the film’s promotions, Akash Goparaju interacted with the media and shared details about the movie, his role, and the support he received from his mother Sunitha.
Speaking about the difference between his debut film ‘Sarkaru Noukari’ and ‘Kotha Malupu’, Akash said, “‘Sarkaru Noukari’ was a period drama, whereas ‘Kotha Malupu’ belongs to a completely different genre. It is a village-based romantic love-and-suspense entertainer set in Konaseema. Along with love, comedy, and emotions, the film carries a suspense element that keeps audiences engaged throughout. I believe it will offer a fresh cinematic experience.”
Talking about his character, he said, “My role is energetic and relatable to today’s youth. Compared to my first film, I worked harder on my performance, body language, and expressions. With guidance from senior actors and suggestions from my mother, I learned a lot and improved my acting skills.”
Akash revealed that the twists in the story impressed him immediately. “True to the title ‘Kotha Malupu’, the story contains several unexpected twists that audiences cannot predict. Director Shiva Varaprasad beautifully blended the scenic beauty of Konaseema with strong commercial elements,” he said.
He also appreciated the support of Mythri Movie Distributors. “Having a reputed distribution company release our film has increased confidence among audiences. Their support will definitely help the film reach more people,” he added.
Speaking about his chemistry with heroine Bhairavi Ardya, Akash said, “We play cousins in a village setting. The fun moments, playful arguments, and emotional scenes between our characters will entertain audiences.”
Akash shared that his mother Sunitha was extremely happy after watching the film. “She felt the output came out very well and strongly believes audiences will enjoy it. She always gives me freedom in choosing scripts and supports me throughout my journey,” he said.
The film also stars Raghu Babu, Prithviraj, and Prabhavathi in key roles. Music director Yashwanth Nag has composed the songs and background score.
Produced by Thati Balakrishna, ‘Kotha Malupu’ is expected to entertain audiences with its mix of romance, family emotions, comedy, and suspense when it releases in theatres on June 12.
