Deepti Naval says Mumbai monsoon always brings her back home

Taking to social media, the acclaimed actress shared a throwback photograph of herself dressed in winter attire, including a warm sweater, trousers and winter boots, while seated on a flight of stone steps.
Mumbai: Veteran actress Deepti Naval expressed her deep affection for Mumbai’s monsoon season, revealing that despite her love for winter weather, the city’s rains always drew her back.
Taking to social media, the acclaimed actress shared a throwback photograph of herself dressed in winter attire, including a warm sweater, trousers and winter boots, while seated on a flight of stone steps. Along with the image, she reflected on her fondness for cold weather and the special place Mumbai’s monsoon holds in her heart.
“In my New York winter boots! I've always loved winters... Any excuse to get out there in the cold, away from the Mumbai heat. But come monsoon, and you'll see me come hurtling back to Bombay! Because more than the winter, I love the Bombay rains. Any day now, can't wait...” she wrote.
Known as one of Indian cinema’s most respected performers, Naval has delivered memorable performances in films such as Chashme Buddoor, Saath Saath, Katha, Ankahee and Mirch Masala. Apart from acting, she has also earned recognition as a writer, painter and photographer.
The actress was most recently seen in the 2025 crime thriller “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders”, directed by Honey Trehan. The film featured performances by Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Chitrangada Singh, with a special appearance by Radhika Apte.
Earlier in March, Naval had also shared a nostalgic throwback post featuring sepia-toned photographs in a camera reel format. Accompanying the images, she wrote a simple caption, “Another time...”, evoking memories of the past.
