‘Kotha Malupu’ actress Bhairavi Ardhya pins hopes on the film

With Kotha Malupu gearing up for its theatrical release on June 12, debutante actress Bhairavi Ardhya Deka is already winning hearts with her inspiring journey from Assam to Telugu cinema. The actress, who plays the female lead opposite Akash, son of popular singer Sunitha, recently shared insights about her struggles, preparation, and passion for acting.
Bhairavi revealed that her dream of becoming an actress began during her childhood in Assam. Despite having no background in the Telugu film industry and not knowing the language initially, she remained determined to pursue her goal. She spent nearly three years attending auditions while simultaneously learning Telugu, eventually earning her breakthrough role in Kotha Malupu.
In the film, Bhairavi portrays Varalakshmi, a free-spirited village girl from Konaseema. To bring authenticity to the role, she spent nearly a month in the region before filming began, closely observing the local culture, dialect, lifestyle, and traditions. The actress said the experience helped her immerse herself in the character, with many people now believing she is a native Telugu girl.
She also acknowledged the challenges she faced, particularly adapting to the Godavari dialect and shooting during difficult monsoon conditions. However, she credited director Shiva Varaprasad and co-star Akash for providing constant support throughout the production.
A long-time admirer of Telugu cinema, Bhairavi said she has always enjoyed the emotional storytelling in Tollywood. She also underwent professional acting training at Hyderabad’s Natarang Theatre to sharpen her skills.
Expressing confidence in Kotha Malupu, she described the film as a complete entertainer packed with emotions, comedy, suspense, and family drama. Bhairavi hopes audiences will embrace her debut and support the film when it arrives in theatres on June 12.
