Harish Uthaman calls voicing Duncan in ‘He-Man’ a childhood dream come true

Actor Harish Uthaman has shared an emotional note after dubbing for the character Duncan in the Malayalam version of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, calling the opportunity a deeply special and nostalgic moment from his life.

Taking to Instagram, the actor reflected on his childhood memories associated with the iconic franchise and revealed how much the world of He-Man meant to him while growing up. Harish said that as a child, he would eagerly wait to watch every episode and even rush to his neighbour’s house to ensure he never missed the show.

Recalling those early years, Harish revealed that he was especially obsessed with collecting He-Man stickers for his school notebooks. He described how carrying those stickers made him feel connected to the fantasy world he admired so much as a young boy.

The actor expressed happiness that life had unexpectedly come full circle with him now lending his voice to Duncan, a character portrayed by Idris Elba in the Malayalam dubbed version of the film.

Sharing his excitement about being part of the globally recognised franchise, Harish wrote that contributing to a project that shaped his childhood memories was an overwhelming experience. He also thanked the team that brought him onboard for the Malayalam version and said he was cherishing every moment of the journey.

He concluded his heartfelt note by saying that some childhood dreams eventually find their way back into people’s lives when they least expect it, making the experience even more memorable and emotional.

For the uninitiated, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe released in India on June 5 and arrived in theatres in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.

The Indian dubbed versions have featured several notable voices. Veteran actor Jaaved Jaaferi voiced the villain Skeletor in Hindi, while acclaimed actor Adithya Menon lent his voice to the iconic antagonist across the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions.

The multilingual release has generated considerable excitement among fans of the legendary franchise, especially among audiences who grew up watching the original animated series.
